At the 2011 NAMM Show, Kurzweil announced that it’s shipping the SP4-7 stage piano.
Here’s what they have to say about the SP4-7 stage piano:
With 128 programs taken directly from our highly acclaimed PC3 keyboard, the SP4-7 is simply unmatched in (and well above) its price range for sound quality. Included in the SP4-7 are some of our best pianos, string sections, vintage keys, KB3 organ emulations, orchestral sounds, guitars, drums, winds and Take 6 vocals. All the sound generating and effects processing power of our latest custom hardware is under the hood, paired with a simple, elegant interface that will invite and inspire musicians from the moment they turn it on.
Weighing in at a mere 24 lbs, the SP4-7 is sleek, easy to carry and leaves a very small footprint on stage or in the studio. Its 76 semi-weighted keys are fast and responsive, using new cutting edge touch-response software to ensure that the SP4-7 feels like a musical instrument, not just a piece of technology.
Tthe SP4-7 includes dedicated buttons for one-touch splitting and layering, and Setup Mode provides 4 discreet zones, each with its own MIDI control. The SP4-7’s USB port can be used for MIDI, storing/saving sounds and setups and for OS updates.
The Kurzweil SP4-7 is available now for around $1,100.
