Audio Damage has introduced Mangleverb, a new audio effect for Mac & Windows.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
Mangleverb has an updated version of the reverb algorithm from our long-deceased Deverb plug-in, along with our most popular analog filter model, an incredibly sophisticated LFO and envelope follower, sidechain input, a full I/O section, and just in case you want to replace your tweeters, a feedback knob. In short, the question isn’t ‘what does it do?’ but rather ‘what doesn’t it do?’
Features:
- Simple-to-use algorithmic reverb that can be either pre- or post-filter/VCA.
- A monster resonant filter model with lowpass, bandpass, and highpass modes, and a drive circuit for gritty distortion.
- Sophisticated tempo-synced LFO with waveshaper to create all common (and some uncommon) modulation shapes.
- Envelope follower with internal, LFO, sidechain input, and MIDI trigger modes.
- Feedback path and modulated VCA for final signal taming.
Mangleverb is priced at US $49.99. See the Audio Damage site for demos.
Demos wouldn’t play on my rig. Curious as to how it sounds- Would be nice to have a more full-fledged demo recording.
So native intruments have set a new standard in VST graphic design, it seems (I’m inferring that this interface is ripping off the monark). I’m personally tired of the fake physical interfaces. Give me big, stylish, dynamic vector graphics.
Yeah, I hope it sounds good, cause the visual design probably took 2 minutes to do. AD used to have wonderful UI design. Makes me wonder if someone got fired and somebody else thinks they can do everything wonderfully?
Great stuff! And more versatile and sound design-y than I first thought. And it’s $49 …
This is another one of Chris Randall’s UIs. Same designer of every AudioDamage UI. The company is two people: Chris Randall and Adam Schabtach. No hires or fires. Look at AudioDamage’s entire plugin list. This UI fits with MANY of them. It’s a return to their old style, both in terms of plugin topology and UI.
yeah, if anything NI took Audio Damage’s look. They have been using a similar UI since their inception.
