2016 NAMM Show: Waldorf has announced three new Eurorack modules and a 37-key Eurorack keyboard, to be introduced at the Winter NAMM Show, being held Jan 21-24, 2016 in Anaheim, CA.
The three modules include:
- dvca1 Dual VCA module for Eurorack systems
- mod1 Modulator module for Eurorack systems
- cmp1 Compressor module for Eurorack systems
In addition, Waldorf is introducing the kb37 Controller Keyboard for Eurorack modules.
Here’s the official intro video:
The Waldorf mod1, above right, is described as the control center of your modular patch.
The mod1 puts three highly flexible modulation sources in one module: AD3SR, Symmetry Generator & Rise & Fall. All are based on analog circuits, for snappy attacks and smooth curves.
The Waldorf dvca1 is built around two VCAs with a wide range of options, including the ability to musically ‘colour’ the signal. \
Starting in dry mode, you get high-precision analogue amplification. But then when you turn the Colour knob, you add ‘a warmer and more colourful timbre’ to the signal, based on a state variable filtering circuit.
Simultaneous linear and exponential control as well as specialized AC and DC coupled inputs are provided. A positive gain control makes the dvca1 a true “amplifier,” and flexible link modes let you create modulated panning.
The Waldorf cmp1 is true analog compressor that they say not only adds punch to your signal, but can be modulated in unconventional ways.
Side-chaining with a adjustable balance control will open a huge set of modular possibilities.
The cmp1 features attack and release control, automatic and manual modes, hard and soft knee as well as output gain and bleed amount of the original signal.
Finally, Waldorf has designed a new keyboard case for Eurorack synthesists.
The Waldorf kb37 is a compact Eurorack keyboard case that can house up to 100 HP of modules. It features a conveniently angled panel and high-quality Fatar TP9 keyboard.

Intriguing..
Curious on price for the kb37. It would eliminate the need to clog up hp with an output module and MIDI module. 107hp is plenty of room for even a dual voice setup, All those keyboard CV outs look incredible.
Throw in a revived Q and I will give Waldorf my money.
Or a new, bright orange Microwave XTK!
any word on price for the modules?
I guess about $300 each, including that kb37. So all together will be about $1500.-
Look like new zarenbourg at 0.08?
That’s the desktop module: http://www.bonedo.de/artikel/einzelansicht/musikmesse-2015-waldorf-zarenbourg-piano-modul.html
That’s the desktop module of the Zarenbourg, announced at NAMM 2015.
Aftertouch! Yes! Yes!
Is this real or is this a Stromberg?
No price = Can’t Afford It
I guess it will cost about 600 – 700 €.
maybe less… who knows
i just wet myself, in a good way….
i like the keyboard …..but i would swap out all the modules
with Pittsburgh audio , make noise and a few mutable instruments modules
I wish they would make a keyboard without the rack space that could fit neatly in front of current racks.
I don’t need or want the rackspace on this.
Who else makes bare keyboards like this, without rackspace ?
WMD monolith is another alternative worth considering.
$699 list for the keyboard. heard it from a source of a source.
