Module-maker Tsyklon Labs recently announced the availability of their latest Eurorack Synthesizer Module and Expander – the Kosmodrom Chaos Divider HV and CD Sputnik.

Styled in the likeness of Soviet “Space-Race era” hardware, the use of a high-voltage circuit to power the Mode selection Nixie tube lets the Chaos Divider HV stand apart. The circuitry of the Kosmodrom Chaos Divider HV and CD Sputnik have been assembled from both modern and vintage components. The front panel has been constructed of 2mm thick, powder-coated aluminum with 3-color hand printed graphics designed by Hannes Pasqualini of Papernoise. The use of anodized aluminum knobs give the Kosmodrom Chaos Divider HV and CD Sputnik a durable feel and confdent operator experience.

Operationally, the Chaos Divider HV is a clock pulse modulator that can recall 10 different division tables [MODES] via front panel controls or Control Voltage input [0-10VDC]. The input clock pulses are then divided by the selected table and sent to the appropriate output. The selected division table can be modulated with the Interval control to scroll to longer divisions and the Intensity control to rotate the division table through the outputs. When the Chaos Divider is operated in Chaos mode, the Interval and Intensity controls set the initial conditions used to determine the evolving division table used to set the outputs. Using the CD Sputnik expander module opens up even more functions such as switching between clock and frequency division, split-mirroring the outputs, and changing the gate length of the outputs.
