Novation has released v3 of its free beatmaking app, Launchpad for iOS.
The update adds support for multi-color pads, making it easy to see the difference between your drum, bass and melodic pads. It also adds multi-color support for the Novation Launchpad Pro, Launchpad Mk2 and Launchkey hardware.
Here’s what’s new in Novation Launchpad v3:
- New look and feel to support multi-color pads.
- Pad colors indicate sound category, such as Drums, Bass, Melodics, etc.
- Support for multi-color on Novation Launchpad Pro, Launchpad Mk2 and Launchkey Mk2 hardware
Other recently added features:
- Real-time tempo – Change tempo while playing, at any time
- Ableton Link support – Jam in sync with your other apps, devices or Ableton Live
- Flanger FX and Stopper FX – Fresh additions to the effects library on iPad
- MIDI Sync Output – Connect Launchpad to external hardware synths and drum machines on iPad
- ?Full-view mode – Show pads alongside either filters, volumes faders or FX on iPad
- Various minor bugfixes and improvements

Pricing and Availability
Novation Launchpad for iOS is available as a free download. Support for audio import is available as an In-App purchase, along with sample libraries in various styles.
