Sound designer Francis Preve has shared a new free patch library for Xfer Serum.
Preve is best known in the electronic music world as one of the rock stars of sound design – working for the likes of Ableton, Korg, Dave Smith, and Roland. But he’s also a college professor, and the new sound library includes sounds his students created, along with some of his own sound design work.
Here’s what he has to say about the patch library:
Since last year’s free Serum pack was so well-received, I asked the students in my Synthesis 2 course (at Austin Community College) if they’d be interested in contributing a few sounds for the 2018 pack. There are some truly gifted designers at the school and I really wanted to highlight their talents.
Fortunately, many of them agreed – providing presets for each of the following categories: Bass, Pad, Lead, and Pluck.
With their full permission, I’m sharing the results as a free download for Serum fans.
Along with Preve’s work, the sound pack includes contributions from Jay Alba, Siegen Bretzke, Daniel Buckingham, Jacob Cho, Ali Darwiche, Mike Stellman & Troy Umran.
The Xfer Serum Preset Pack (Winter 2018) is available now as a free download from Preve’s site.
