I guess Korg has been using their time and resources to update this and the Kross, while the Kronos gets a slap of red paint. Maybe the red paint was leftover from making the “new” Kross keyboards.
The Krome unweighted keyboard is/has been uninvitingly klacky to me as a player. The new model may have improved on that a bit. YMMV. I do recommend Korg workstations in part because I started on their sequencers, which are direct and fairly friendly. I’d love to see a Krome module. Put that on top of a smokin’ controller with a few zones to offer and it’d be a winning team, like an M3 Jr. Just IMO, as always. I have to compliment that new piano, too. It sounds meaty and inviting.
I’m with you, S-Trigger; I had a Krome and could not bring myself to get along with its action. They must know that that unweighted keybed feels particularly dreadful, especially next to the Fantom FA-07 and the new MODX. If this one firms that up a bit, it could be an excellent contender for a lightweight gigging/rehearsing instrument. Their interface and sounds are really good, and combi mode is simple yet powerful.
