I have to have it 🙂 Getting a lil bored or my current pad style software groovebox which shall remain nameless…*clears throat” fxpansionnonupdategreatpieceofwork
This is half the price of the NI Maschine. To me – that makes the Maschine look like a lot better deal.
the problem with NI Maschine is that it has a dedicated hardware controller. I’m a performing musician who does a live PA set with a drummer and we both run ableton linked up on laptops. Having a dedicated controller for Maschine is excessive for a live environment.
A much better alternative is BPM (which soundz quite a bit more dope than maschine – imo) and then grabbing the akai apc40 – first controller developed specifically for live.
This is way better b/c I need my controller to control my DAW, not just a vst plugin in the DAW. The DAW controller can then control important parameters in the plugin, as can my novation keyboard midi controller.
Don’t get me wrong, Maschine is dope and the controller for it is awesome, but I need to be able to customize everything and control parameters outside of the vst and customize my interface with my computer in a way that’s not limited by a vst specific controller.
beyond that, as dope as NI software is, the BPM was truly developed with some amazing music engineers and producers to create the best samples I’ve heard from any beat production software… just my opinion.
The Maschine is probably a better alternative for folks working only in a studio/home studio and using a myriad of controllers and DAW’s that are not live performance oriented.
awesome program it works flawlessy w/ my akai mpd32, I havn' t had it for a few days now and I know I haven't even scratched the surface yet but so far I'm blown away. Only gripe I have is the chopping of audio is a little elementary(not very technical @ all), but if you have Imageline Edison its the perfect fit
