At SynthPlex 2019, composer Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL, (Mad Max: Fury Road, DeadPool, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice) was featured as the keynote speaker.
In this short clip from his talk, Holkenborg shares how he fell in love with synths, amassed a huge collection of vintage gear and, along the way, got in trouble at school for freaking out his classmates.
Wonder which shop he worked for.
Unfortunately, the cheap 15 year old synths of today are soft synths that have been forgotten or updated.
That is just an unbelievable story, like something every single synth enthusiast would have dreamed of once in their lives! I would love to see the complete list of his collection.
God Bless this man!
i guess peter verspuy in rottterdam which is now part of bax music.
i remember buying a Moog Source, Moog Sonic Six, Micro Moog and Multi Moogs for $150 – $200 Canadian. I been buying, fixing and selling synths for decades and it has always been beneficial. Now a days they are crazy expensive. I am glad Behringer are bringing these classics to the masses.
