Today, IK Multimedia announced that the UNO Drum, the newest member of their UNO series, is now available.
Announced last month at Superbooth 2019, and designed in collaboration with Italian analog specialist Soundmachines, UNO Drum follows the UNO Synth, and combines analog tone with digital flexibility and convenience.

Clever idea, but too few knobs and a massive membrane control panel brings back memories of 1980s UI design, after companies abandoned knobs. It makes more sense to buy an iPad app. Far cheaper and the screen offers better visual cues of what’s going on.

its a bit like convincing yourself what you should do with your own money, except you extrapolate it into some kind of “wisdom for the people”

The membrane-UI gives me warm fuzzy memories of the Moog Source but I have no idea how that’d feel when programming drums (somewhere between iOS screens and typical hardware but also being neither?).
I think the “future additional sounds” mentioned briefly amongst all the other info could be far more emphasized as indication of this units true potential and promise.
At this point we need something the calibre of a Loopop or Stimming review.

Yes, I agree that “review” was quite a fail. They were using a pre-production unit, exhibiting exaggerated issues or issues that didn’t exist (note that pads do not trigger when you don’t actually hit them – go figure).
Other actual honest reviews that aren’t hyped don’t note the alleged issue that makes it “unusable”, as you can read one here (again, an honest review that is not all glowing by any means, but you can see neither of these alleged issues show here https://ask.audio/articles/review-ik-multimedia-uno-drum
