PM founder Richard Nicol describes the VRL as “a completely different analog synthesizer, where every function of the instrument has been influenced by the behaviors and systems of the natural world, ” adding that it’s “a sonic playground, created to explore the natural systems and lesser known fringes of analog synthesis.

That’s what happens when you create an original design with a small team and don’t manufacture/build everything in China.
While i am a fan of the company, and as pro made-in-the-USA as you can get, that excuse only goes so far. With the economy teetering on collapse, this does not seem like a great use of resources. That kind of money buys a lot with their competitors.
