Sound Provider shared this audio demo of the classic 70’s Mu-Tron Bi-Phase phaser in use with a variety of keyboards and electronic instruments.
The Mu-Tron Bi-Phase consists of two independent 6-stage phaser circuits, two sweep generators (oscillators), and a number of additional controls to allow for flexibility in generating a wide range of phasing effects.
Here’s what they have to say about the technical details:
“I used the Novation Peak synthesizer and the Yocto drum machine (A DIY Clone of the Roland Tr-808 from E-licktronic I build myself not without difficulty) .
The video Start with a “Clavinet” Sound Done with the Peak, at 2.30 you have kind of Guitar arp, at 5.30 a bass Lead at 9.30 some Pad Chord, at 13minutes you can listen to the effect with a Bass then around 16 the video ends with the DrumMachine.”
If you’ve used the Bi-Phase, share your thoughts on it in the comments!

I put the sound of this demo through the bi-phase clone that I’ve build, because double phaser fun is not enough it had to go through 4 phasers with 6-stages each to be sufficient
That’s a proper effects unit/pedal. Nice and large to fit in all the chips in and fit your fingers or toes round the controls.
This is all over Smashing Pumpkins early work
