Arturia has announced that the MatrixBrute Noir Edition – a new version of their MatrixBrute analog monosynth with ‘Noir’ styling and updated firmware – is now available.
The Noir Edition features a new paint job, new knob caps and the black ionized parts. Like the original, it features a 100% analog audio signal path, with true analog effects.
The MatrixBrute Noir Edition is limited to 500 units.
Pricing and Availability
The Arturia MatrixBrute Noir Edition is available now with a street price around $2,000 USD.
Arturia likes to do these special editions. Unfortunately, I worry that they might be doing this shortly before they end production… unless a Matrixbrute II is on the horizon!
Arturia has made some real progress in gaining the market’s trust over the last few years (after an arguably shaky start), and makes some really great hardware at generally accessible prices. I hope they keep it up!
The MicroBrute is really an amazing piece of gear for the price.
Agreed! And the MicroFreak is innovative and fun as well.
Skeptical that they would invest in 500 custom units just before discontinuing the product.
This looks really nice.
…but it has a darker sound.
I like it. But arturia hardware synths do lack (enough) polyphony for my taste. That’s why i’m buying a novation summit and sorry arturia…you never came in the picture.
Just buy two Arturia hardware synths and connect them. Problem solved.
Start donating plasma a few times a month, and see how much you can get for that extra kidney that you don’t need. Before you know it, you’ll be basking in Arturia hardware synth bliss.
While we are comparing apples and oranges: I like it. But Moog hardware synths do lack (enough) polyphony for my taste. That’s why i’m buying a Roland Jupiter 8 and sorry Moog…you never came in the picture.
They are both just below 2000,-
You wished you can buy a Jupiter 8 for 2k. But let me direct you to Behringer my friend…soon 🙂
Yeah I did not consider the price range. Meanwhile I will use the VST one from TAL, or Arturia, but certainly not the one from Roland Cloud, just because 😀
Monosynths do tend to lack real polyphony, you know…..
Black pigment supplies obviously not affected by the corona pandemic. 😉
These are great, though I think the standard version would be easier to see in dim lighting conditions. The Matrixbrute finds its way into most of my recordings. Instant vibe and character, and a classic not to be missed.
I’m planning on getting a polybrute later this year, but now I have to ask whether to get one of these as well… do I go double-brute?
