So, it’s a focusrite 4i4 with 2 USB inputs.
1x usb “input” and 2x usb hub to connect other usb peripherals, also there are two headphone outs and nicer meters…
audio specs seems about the same so i don’t know what they mean by “best-in-class audio quality” i guess they use the same converter. i will trust focusrite drivers more than arturia’s (with pc), they are both probably not the best, focusrite drivers use to be really bad but by now they have way more experience.
Dual headphone outs. Right, I suppose that’s useful in certain circumstances.
But, as far as the USB hub, it seems like the interface is USB powered?
I wouldn’t trust an interface with a USB hub that doesn’t have its own power source. Maybe you can use a mouse and keyboard with that, but not much else.
it’s mainly for midi controllers but since you showed distrust i rtfm for you,
“Hub – these convenient USB ports allow you to plug in other USB devices, like thumb drives or MIDI controllers. The USB port is only functional while powering the MiniFuse via the optional power supply. It will not function when the unit is bus-powered via USB only, in order to maintain sufficient bandwidth for the inputs and outputs.”
okay, no need to get weirdly aggro. So, you’d have to buy a power supply separately to even use the usb ports. Fair enough. Weird that they even have the function on there if it doesn’t work out of the box though. Do they show where you can buy this optional power supply?
again rtfm
“AC power supply input – the MiniFuse can optionally be powered via the included power supply instead of the bus-powered USB connection”
Pro tip: You should only use the acronym RTFM when a person ACTUALLY OWNS the product and is asking questions about it. Otherwise, the marketing materials should suffice on basic questions like this.
well, “my tip” for you (if it wasn’t obvious) is to read the manual before you buy anything you are interested in (or let loopop read it for you).
but you can also just blame arturia…
btw, it’s more like cftfm (ctrl f tfm), it takes like 30 seconds…
Yup, by the looks. And the USB is just a hub – nothing innovative like the iConnectivity Audio interfaces that allow multiple connections and to stream audio between devices.
The Minifuse has two headphone outs compared to the 4i4’s one.
Both the 4i4 and Minifuse have useful loopback channels.
Audio quality has long plateaued for this tier of interface. Incremental improvements make no sense.
Offering a 5 year warranty would have been environmentally progressive.
What we get it the same old status quo, 1 year warranty, designed if France, made in genocidal, upcoming-Taiwan invading China. Did you see the the Hong Kong protester getting dragged into the Chinese embassy in Manchester, UK and beaten up? Lovely country China, we should do more business with them.
your last part is very unrelated, its seems you got a case of “poly-tics”
A recurring request in this site: a poly anal-og
Not so unrelated. It is a made in China product where the manufacturer had a choice where to outsource to.
For some the line has been crossed long ago, for others they’ll try to profit dealing with dodgey dictatorships until their conscience or the conscience of their customers kicks in.
Do you think Arturia will continue to do business with China after they invade Taiwan?
Yesterday when i bought a new Xiaomi phone i thought about you, maybe i should get rid of my Huawei tablet to stay in you’re good grace.
You’re always so positive mate
