Tracktion Corporation has introduced KULT, the latest synth design from Peter V (AKA Dawesome). This is Peter’s 4th instrument, following on from the widely acclaimed Novum, Abyss, & Chop Suey.
KULT merges classical syntheses with new concepts. At the heart of the new synth are two independent, powerful oscillators. These so-called ‘Strange Attractors’ are based on the mathematical theory of chaos. There are more than thirty oscillator models to choose from, ranging from classical waveforms to chaotic sculptures of sound. KULT’s OSC’s add a vast range of sonic timbres, which can be shaped with FM and AM synthesis.
Also included is a complex filter selection: Formant Filter, 2 x Comb Filters and 2 x ‘Analog’ Filters.
Additional options include a creative arpeggiator, full MPE support and a formidable modulation system.
Pricing and Availability
KULT is available now, with an intro price of $64.50 USD through 02/01/2023 (normally $129).
I purchased this last week. Dawsome continues to design and Traction continues to market innovative (albeit somewhat expensive) virtual instruments. This one is no exception. KULT represents a novel way of accomplishing things with FM/AM synthesis. Novum really blew me away, and so far KULT is coming close. For $65 this synth is a real bargsin.
+1
totally agree
have all their offerings, got this the day they released it
Major audio fun for me
Great job Dawsome
This sounds so good. Great synth, innovative & smart. If you start with oscillators that have so much textural richness, you can only get great results. For the sheer amount of work that it must have demanded, 65$ is a very decent & reasonable price.
looks like a more simplistic and/or less occulted version of of the Metaphysical Generator ensemble for Reaktor
I have been looking at the demo, it took some time to realize how modulation works but overall it is quite interesting (especially the oscillator options). I do not like the presets being on the main page and as usual the stupidity with the fx section. I just wished there was an fx deactivate button, that would work on all presets.
