In this over-the-top cute video, kitties play a mini theremin. And try to eat it, too.

As movies “cats playing a theremin” on YouTube were fun to me, I got to want to buy one and let my cats play it.

That first cat has a face very much like my kitten, Uni: http://www.flickr.com/photos/torley/3262568550/
Makes me want to get a theremin to keep my cat busy.
Of course, part of the appeal for cats is the wire. Cats love wire, especially getting stiff bits of wire between their teeth (no, I don’t know why… I’m not a cat, am I ?). It would be interesting to see how cats react to more substantial antennae like a PAiA Theremax or something.
This is starting to give me all sorts of ideas for cat-instrument interfaces that appeal to the feline nature… (I’m thinking of some sort of link to the famous hamster sequencer)
It makes me wonder if cats get the cause and effect relationship, or if they just want to eat the wire……
