Also Sprach Zarathustra (Opening Theme) – Composed by Richard Strauss – 1896 – Opus 30 – is one of his famous tone poems, which was inspired by the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. This theme is best known for its dramatic use in the opening credits of Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 visionary film – 2001 – A Space Odyssey – based itself on the science fiction novel written by Arthur C Clarke. In the context of the Kubrick Film, the title is often translated as Thus Spake Zarathustra, or even Thus Spoke Zarathustra!
