Robkoo – creators of the Wind Synthesizer R1 – have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production of the Clarii mini, which is a portable digital wind instrument and MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) controller.
The Clarii mini is based on the Wind Synthesizer R1, but designed to be portable and easier to learn. Like the R1, the Clarii mini lets you play a variety of onboard sounds via the built-in speaker, with touch-sensing keys, a breath sensor and motion sensors to control expression.
Clarii mini can also be customized, using Robkoo’s performance app for iOS and Android, for example to create custom fingerings and scale sets. And, as a MIDI controller, Clarii mini supports Bluetooth and USB Type-C MIDI, so you can use it to play other virtual instruments.
Pricing and Availability:
Production of the Clarii mini is being funded via a Kickstarter campaign, and it is available to project backers starting at $199 for ‘Early Bird’ pricing.
Note: Crowdfunded projects involve risk – read the project site for details.
