Warp Records has announced the availability of Selected Ambient Works Volume II (Expanded Edition) by Aphex Twin.
Selected Ambient Works Volume II (Expanded Edition) is being released to celebrate the original album’s 30th anniversary. Since it was originally released in 1994, the album has been recognized as one of the most important ambient albums of all time, and its influence continues to grow.
The Expanded Edition includes all songs on all formats for the first time, including previously vinyl-exclusive track #19 alongside two additional tracks (officially released and on physical formats for the first time).
It’s available via Amazon, Bandcamp and directly via Warp. You can preview Selected Ambient Works Volume II (Expanded Edition) below:
Depersonalized by digital technologies.
These reissues and expanded reissues are just silly. All this material was neither ground breaking or innovative when it was released and has aged like milk.
As The Dude would say, “That’s just like uh, your opinion, man.”
Given the massive influence that Selected Ambient Works Volume II has had on electronic musicians, your opinion is also incorrect. The album is widely recognized as one of the most important ambient albums.
For example, Pitchfork ranked it #2 in its list of the most important ambient music albums of all time, and 33 1/3 rated it highly enough to publish an entire book on the album.
Pro Tip: Unless you back contrary statements like yours with reason, you’re just trolling.
Na, I would say his “come to daddy” era is more “ehh” than this, this is great, but not as good as the first.
