  1. is this a f joke, sk1 casio samples played over quadraverb , this shiet i was doing when i was 15…20 years ago.WTF ? it must me a joke?

      1. Really? Seems like Track 13 is def throwing off some early ‘90s budget sampler vibes. Not hating on it and James isn’t hiding it either, as the title literally has “SK8” in the title which leads me to think he’s literally just playing a sample on a Casio SK-8 through a reverb. Exactly what OP stated. The way I see it, if James’ antics about walking the line of what many ppl consider “music” makes you uncomfortable, then Aphex Twin is likely not for you.

      2. I just skipped through about 60 seconds of the first track. My gut reaction to your gut reaction is….please do NOT feed the fucking troll.

  2. Sad to say this, but there is ONE track, which i like Luke Vibert & Aphex Twin – Spiral Staircase (AFX Remix), and all other stuff is just “noob like sounds” ;/ £20 … yeah, sure(!)

    1. Funny, I was just thinking this is the only one I don’t like, well, one of them anyway. no groove, so white. I’m surprised he won the contest with it

  3. well its the same thing all over again. I am not saying it is bad, but it is mehh at least. Been there, listened to that. You can see he is missing incentive, ambition or drive. It’s lik most of his latest releases are outakes, other wouldn’t release them. On the other hand, i am happy if he is making money out of it. In this dark age for musicians, its nice to know so one does well.

    1. I’ve been listening to most of these tracks for over 5 years. They’re innovative and full of emotion, giving me real joy. While it takes time to truly appreciate, it’s worth the effort. I think the lack of excitement mostly comes from his older listeners who may struggle to embrace something new from him 🙂
