In this vintage video, from 1983, Herbie Hancock jams on the Fairlight Computer Music Instrument as Quincy Jones looks on.

great one, thanks !
I remember coming across this on YT before. I like the conversation towards the end about their relationship with the technology as tools that depend entirely on the person using them.
Ouch.
Do you young bucks have to label everything from the 1980s "vintage"? It hurts, you know! 🙂
that's such a tight jam. had me boogieing
Sad, but true. I can feel your pain.
The "ouch" is purely psychological. The pain is kept in check by my 'vintage' glue sniffing legacy.
I think Herbie says it ALL near the end. Sort of explains why music sucks today. – Sucky humans TRYING to make music! Very few “mainstream” corporatized artists..do not fall in the same league as these two here.
I haven’t seen a league of seasoned gentlemen like we do here in a long long time! Either that..or we are not teaching our kids what and who the good performers and musicians are!
