Aero Film Director/ VFX artist Sam O’Hare created this short film, Sandpit, that’s inspired by films like Koyaanisqatsi and time-lapse tilt shift photography.

  1. I love these films, it's a fascinating effect. It's interesting to note that the scenes that don't look convincingly like a model are the ones where the movement is just real and organic. For example any scene where you see people moving in detail.

  5. Mirlitron: its an effect called "tilt shift". This looks like its been done in post but the effect is to soften the focus of the fore and background, added with the speeding up of the timelapse creates a nice effect.
