This is a great in depth tutorial on how to do get some of the most difficult sounds out of Live
There is a caveat in this tutorial IMO. *Always* turn off oscillators in Operator which you don't use. You can click the routing to parallel, that does not stop the other oscillators from gobbling up cpu cycles. I was very surprised to see that he totally seems to ignore this, even though you can see the CPU meter go quite up.
The other thing which puzzled me, but this is purely based on personal taste, is if Analog wouldn't be a better choice here. Its more aimed at analog sounds, so your bass won't end up sounding too "electronic", while being less heavy on the cpu.
Apart from that I think he's demonstrating some interesting items here.
