Polychord (App Store link) is an $9.99 iPad musical instrument designed to be easy to play, in the tradition of the autoharp or OmniChord:
Polychord is drums, bass, chords, and accompaniment all wrapped into one. Simply press one of the chord circles and your on your way to writing a song. Drums and bass follow the chords automatically, but the coolest part is probably the strum keys on the right: simply swipe your finger over the yellow keys to strum a chord.
Unfortunately, the company doesn’t provide specs for the app. WireToTheEar’s Oliver Chesler has a short review of it, though, saying “If they get this App working with Midi/external sounds it’s going to be drop dead essential.”
If you’ve used Polychord, leave a comment and let us know what you think of it!
Sitting a bit board in the office today and decided to give this a go.
OMG, its quite inspired, but REALLY needs Midi out support. If you get that, you have a great tool here.
Yeah.. it looks like a great app. If it ever gets midi out.. Ill buy it.
same here. no midi out is a dealbreaker for me –
It seems pretty clear that MIDI support is going to be a big deal for iPad apps. Developers would be smart to say what their plans are for adding MIDI support.
Interesting app, but what's with the (pretty and gratuitous) girl in the App Store photos?
It would be great if you can rotate the purple window 90 degrees as well.
There's a small annoying bug when you push one chord over another, then release the first, it cuts the two. Should it be fixed soon ? Btw midi would be great too !
Pretty "girls" are never gratuitious!
Just bought it. Very good I have a Suzuki qchord but this tops it easily. Beats are sweet. Has great sound. Can only get better.
I am going to buy this when it gets midi output.. It looks really cool.

MIDI is on the way, will be a free upgrade to everyone who already has polychord! Here's a demo:

I'm using Logic, and I'm controlling two synths at once.

There should be a Whammy Bar on this one like the one on Suzuki Q Chord.
