Here’s the new video from The Human League, Night People.
Worth the 10 year wait since their last release?

I dig it, but it doesn't exactly blow my mind. It could have done without the repeated "night people, night people know" phase.
I'd dance to it if i heard it when I was out. You know, at night.
There is definitley no mistaking the title of the song seems it is repeated about 50 times.
First I read the headline and said "wow"! Second I'd saw the video and said "nice". Third I'd heard the voices and said "cute". But after 2/3 or so this terrible technoid synth starts playing and the video gets more and more boring.
I'm exited about a new album, but this song is in the end to clean, to cheap and not "crisp" enough for a good electronic song that last over the time.
Well, a warm wellcome back to the League, I love you, but please give us a good album and not so much stuff like that.
ummm…as a long time fan of THL, I'm not impressed.
Repeating the title of the song over 49 times is always a turn off in my book.
I am a human league fan from way back…this is terrible!
i feel like they'll probably have a b side.. that is less pop sounding that might be a better track…
this is obviously the song they think will sell the best.. i'm going to wait to hear more before i decide how i feel about new THL.
yeh this sucks balls
zzzZZZzzz… boring!
I agree, Secrets was great. This is no where near as good.
i love human league, but this song blows. it sounds like they took a one sentence sample, loaded it into garage band and went home early.
What's it called?
N-n-n-n-n-n-n-night people!
why cant people be negative? why cant people have their own opinion that may differ from yours? perhaps you should try to understand that you are not the only person on the planet, and your particular views are not the only ones possible. you may have some part of your identity tied up with this band, so you feel a need to defend them – but try to realize many of us dont have that particular problem
it sounds like a good album track from Dare. It's good that their sound still has some balls, and the current musical climate makes them very relevant, but this is not a terribly interesting song.
Brilliantly vintage sounding. Reminds me of a more experimental Martin Ware sound. The repetitive lyrics reminded me of Empire State Human. I completely understand people not preferring this sound. It's terribly old-fashioned but in the context of the current electronic music scene, this is a breath of fresh air to me.
This reminds me of some of their earlier critiques in the late 70's, and yet they changed music forever.
Contemporary…and yet, still retro!
So, your writing a reply to my post about how people have different opinions and I should try to understand that? Really?
The single is a great first step and I'm excited to hear the full length. And I definitely identify with the Human League's tenacity and dedication to electronic pop music over the years – I don't see that as problem at all.
Yeh apparently you dont understand because you feel the need to tell people "Don't be so negative."
The problem of identifying with something outside yourself is that negative opinions about that thing are considered as a personal affront, either consciously or unconsciously. The response is personally motivated to be defensive.
My comment of "Don't be so negative" is indeed 100% personally motivated by my opinion. While you may view it as defensive, I view it as a simple response to other comments here like "yeh this sucks balls." That's the the way these things work. Someone posts one opinion/idea (motivated by x) and someone else posts something else (motivated by y).
After listening to the single a bit over the last couple of days I actually like it a bit more than I did initially. The production is strong – especially the vocals; They have that 'Dare' dry/compressed quality. Does anyone know if the entire album was produced by the same people?
Great start to the new stuff!
It is totally crap and the Emperor machine remix is a direct copy of Giorgio Moroder's "The Chase" from Midnight Express
The single has totally bombed, worse than Secrets. Time to retire.
What I like about the track is that it don't have hardly any verse chorus verse parts in it. I don't think there taking it seriously. The more I hear it, the more better it sounds to me.A good Experimental/Club track.

I`ve been an HL fan since they began in `77. Unfortunately the only bearable remix of this new single is the `empire machine` interpretation, with it`s in-your-face Moroder/Orlando bass line and fuller sound than the stand alone single. Oakey and company are obviously getting WAY back to basics on “Night People“. And that isn`t a good thing, because even after hearing the song many times, it becomes more of an irritation than a pleasure. That said, I have high hopes that the new album “Credo“ will feature more up and happy League spins that we have come to know and love them for throughout their career. Just one word of advice for the Human League regarding this single, “snap out of it“.
