Sunday Synth Jam: Synthesist & producer Dylan Nau improvises with Octatrack, Machinedrum, DSI Tetra, Moog Voyager.
Technical details:
Tetra is the lead line and the arpeggio in the bridge, Moog is the bridge spurting synth bass thingy. The main bass lines are sample from the ARP Odyssey and reconstructed. Mostly using scenes here to build an on the fly arrangement.
All instruments sequenced by the Octatrack, straight into stereo Logic. Mastering software on the main mix buss.
Sometimes I want to sell off all of my gear and rebuild with a simple set up like this.
Every time I hear those electron devices, especially the octatrack. I hear a slight background noise, a whisper barley hearable, that tells me: “Come on, buy us, you know you need us, you will be happy with us.” I fear i will give in to the voices, sooner rather than later.
That was really good! Bassline is killer!
Great video, fun music. I went to check out his other videos on Youtube and there were a bunch more that were also great and fun and funky. Very nice gear too. Good stuff.
melodically there’s some excellent ideas, but that glitch/beatrepeat thing he keeps doing is annoying and out of time.
I dug this one!
Looks cool, sounds cool. Cool 🙂
