Here’s another freebie for Ableton Live users – Unusual Percussion For Ableton Live, by AfroDJMac:
This week is the 47th installment of my free Ableton Live Pack series and it is the beginning of a exploratory journey into using nontraditional sounds as drums and percussion. I’ve sampled a bunch of everyday-type sounds (computer keyboards, plastic cups, static) and programmed a couple of patches in Ableton’s Operator to create 126 percussive sounds. From there, I used some of the built in effects (transposition, filter, arpeggiator, and Corpus) to allow you mangle each sound in infinite ways.
If you are feeling a little bored with traditional drum sounds and samples, I hoping this will motivate and inspire.
You can get the full details and the download at the AfroDJMac site.
Yeah, this is great, I am definatly looking for original beat making. The usual 808 and 909 is getting overused, so I’ve been using organic drum one shots, even middle eastern ones, so to go beyond that into the unusual sample terrain is amazing.
I hate you…
