Here’s a preview of Synergy Studio:
Synergy Studio is available in the App Store for $19.99.
What about MIDI support?
the app description says ‘ Synergy includes MIDI implementation enabling you to interact with MIDI hardware’. however, I’d want to use this with synths via virtual midi and there’s no mention of that
just checked out the manual, it looks like it can start a midi network session which should be visible in other synth apps. I was actually really impressed how fully featured this was from reading the manual- although from the store page it looks like all the effects cost extra.
Agreed. I would use something like this as a sketchpad for composing if it exported all the parts as MIDI.
midi file export is a different matter entirely though.. I could find no reference to it anywhere 🙁
Anyone tried it enough to tell us about the tweaking possibilities of the different instrumenats?
last reply and I’ll stop spamming the comments- I still haven’t taken the plunge, but from the manual it seems to have an actual synth, a sampler, and a ‘pad synth’- the indications are pretty good, check it out: http://www.4pockets.com/PDF/Synergy-Manual.pdf . again, I don’t know if they all come with the initial purchase or not, I hope so :/. I really hate IAPs.
After looking into it a bit more the app looks really full featured.
How does this fit in with Aurora HD?
It looks like a new version, but is this replacing Aurora? Does anybody know how they compare?
bought it. so far not having any luck controlling ipad synths :/ it’s actually crashed a couple times while messing with the midi settings too
the sampler supports multiple zones which is cool. no layering as far as I can tell. crossfade option for easier looping seems to work ok. pity there’s no 32nd notes in the editor. they went to the trouble of letting you choose note length resolution but stopped short at 16ths.
I really hope there’s a way to get midi out of this thing onto the same device, otherwise I’m not all that interested, I’d rather work in nanostudio if I’m picking a non-virtual midi enabled studio. network session *should* work as far as I can see, but nothing’s doing
there’s a few minor gripes I have about the editor but all in all it’s nice, just really need the midi out
How do you import new sounds?
I want to try this, but I installed, and it crashes on first load, and says it failed to load some presets and that they were missing. I find it hard to believe I just paid 20 bucks for an app that can’t even install properly. I’d be more than happy to write another review once this mess is sorted out, and I’d warn anybody interested to wait until the next release sorts out these kind of ridiculous bugs. Ad before you suggest obvious solutions, I tried resetting my iPad, restarting it before launch, before install, etc. Nothing works.
Uninstall and install again
Please read what I wrote about suggesting obvious solutions! I tried that several times already! Jeebus.
Software looks, fine, if a bit expensive for an iOS app, but …
The bad compression and noise gating on the voiceover is really distracting, and the presenter seemed to have a cold or something.
