Organizers have announced Ambicon 2013 – an ambient music conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hearts Of Space radio program.
Ambicon 2013 – being held May 3-5, 2013 in San Rafael, CA – is a weekend conference, hosted by Hearts of Space creator Stephen Hill. The event will be organized around 4 live surround-sound concerts, featuring 2 core Hearts of Space artists in each, for a total of 8 individual performances.

Morning sessions will feature interviews, panels, and Q&A.
The event begins with an opening reception Friday night May 3rd. On Saturday May 4th there will be discussion sessions in the morning and two 3-hour concerts on Saturday afternoon and evening with 2 artists each. On Sunday May 5th, there will also be discussion sessions in the morning and two more 3 hour concerts with 2 artists each on Sunday afternoon and evening.
About Hearts Of Space
The Hearts of Space radio program was born in 1973 at KPFA-FM in Berkeley. It began national syndication 10 years later, in 1983.
The conference registration is $359, with a discount for early registrations. Conference registration includes opening reception, all concerts and sessions, coffee break service, and lunch Saturday and Sunday.

I listened to a program called hearts of space when i was 12 on local radio programming. it was my first exposure to electronic music and has been with me ever since. …though i seem to remember it being called hearts of sbass???
