More people should use FM. It’s not all analog you know!
Great tracks! I think someone overdid the ‘Side’ processing when mastering the 1st track. I’m off to ebay now to pick up one of these babies!
Most of my most aggressive tracks were mostly done using FM synthesis and little else. FM is great fun, the only problem I have with it is that FM sounds tend to be hard to integrate with other stuff, at least harder to integrate than most classic analog timbres. It takes more effort to use FM right but when you have the time to do it, you can create some pretty amazing things.
If you like FM, you gotta go all the way – and not try to mix its power with weak, comfortable analog sounds. 🙂
FM for bass sounds!
id recommend the DX200 instead… much much easier to program and get usable sounds, also has plenty of hands on control
much prefer the poly 61 to the dx7. much richer, better for bass. warmer sound overall IMO.
FM and analog are so different, you can’t suggest one over the other.
