Sweet deal on the update!
It only took 8 years for Air to finally release something non-protools /-:
8 years too late! 🙂
Even more proof that the Protools market is shrinking by the day.
First their stock price plummets, now their partnerships are branching out for longevity.
There is a changing of the guard in big, small and home studios.
It’s good to see companies realize they are on a sinking ship and need to paddle for shore.
AIR is going to need to do more to raise awareness of what these things even are. I’m a Logic user and have never used Pro Tools, so I’ve always sort of ‘tuned out’ anything that is AAX only. I know there’s been some fantastic stuff that’s AAX only, but I think a lot of people are probably like me and have ignored anything AAX.
The price seems fair, but how does this compare to similar packages from NI or Rob Papen. And does this require a dongle or any other licensing hassle?
Uses Pace, which to some people is a deal breaker and for others a non issue.
I gave up on Pro Tools couple of versions back, went to LOGIC, so this actually does interest me 🙂
Issue with the AU version of Hybrid 3: won’t install correctly, so it can’t be used in Logic yet. Update soon, or so they say.
How do you open Hybrid 3 in Ableton Live? I cant seem to get it to work.
sad to see that such quality hardware products is out, just because people think a shitty Little soundcard in their computer can do the same as a hardware recording/synth
Luckily you are dead wrong. Lots of people recently have become famous (and yes, rich) by making music using their headphones and a laptop for everything from composition to mastering.
The days of studio hardware are over, for a few years now.
