Holderness Media has released a major update to its Crystalline Shimmer Effects Processor, adding Ducking, BPM sync delays, MIDI clock sync, Bluetooth MIDI and more.
Crystalline creates ‘shimmer’ effects, similar to those used on classic Brian Eno/Daniel Lanois productions.
Here’s a video demo:
New Features:
- Delay/Reverb Ducking with Sensitivity, Threshold, and Release (located in new Settings screen)
- Delay BPM sync, per channel or linked (located in Settings screen)
- MIDI clock sync for delays
- IAA host tempo sync for delays
- Receive MIDI over Bluetooth LE (*requires iOS 8)
- Input/Output gain per channel (located in Settings screen)
- Adjustable latency (located in Settings screen)
- Clear MIDI Learn settings button (located in Settings screen)
- update to Audiobus SDK 2.1.4b7
- minor bugfixes for iOS 8
Crystalline is available for US $4.99 in the App Store.
I can’t wait to check out this update, the Holderness media stuff is great, the developer seems like a fantastically bright guy who has implemented some great interfaces to interact with sounds that reach beyond just slapping a familiar looking gui on an iOS app, and really brings out the potential of touch screen interfaces. I look forward to all his products, ….this is a must buy! (and I do NOT work for him or the company!! 🙂
Brilliant stuff – I just wish for an AU version.
The original effect as used by Eno/Lanois on Apollo involved putting the original dry Omnichord signal out of phase, so it disappeared in the mix. It would be nice if the developers could also include this at a later date.
never knew that, good stuff, did they mic the omnichord or use its direct out and put it out of phase on the board before the fx chain?
