In this video, Future Retro’s Jered Flickinger demonstrates the Mondovox polyphonic MIDI processor.
The Mondovox lets you play up to 16 monophonic synthesizers polyphonically, or play multitimbral synthesizers in new ways.
Although it’s designed to play multiple monosynths polyphonically, the Mondovox can be used with any monophonic, polyphonic, multitimbral or single voice, analog, digital, virtual synthesizer or sampler…. it doesn’t matter, as long as it has MIDI.
The Mondovox is available For US $300. See the Future Retro site for more info.
This product is really interesting and useful.
It can breath new life into any MIDI rig.
The price is pretty attractive too.
You could hook up 8 volcas with that thing and have a monster analog synth for a decent price.
Anyone know where you can get a rack like the one the synths are sitting in?
This could be done with MOTU but not for $300. I wonder how they price it that way.
I know this article is from over a year ago, but are you referring to the MOTU MIDI Express XT? I’m needing to somehow polychain 4 mono synths to hopefully create 4 voices
You can do a similar thing with MaxForLive within Ableton: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/2192/polymind
