This video, via SynthCity, takes a look at the Waldorf NW1 synthesizer module.
The video demonstrates how to record a wavetable into the User bank of the Waldorf NW1 Wavetable Module.
This patch also makes use of the Doepfer A-119, Make Noise Wiard Wogglebug, MN Maths, WMD/SSF Amplitude, and Qu-Bit Electronics RT60.
Here’s another look at the new modules from Waldorf from the 2016 NAMM Show:
In this video, Rolf Wöhrmann gives us an overview of the kb37 Controller Keyboard and three new modules:
- dvca1 Dual VCA module for Eurorack systems
- mod1 Modulator module for Eurorack systems
- cmp1 Compressor module for Eurorack systems
The Waldorf NW1 synthesizer module is priced at US $399.99.
I wonder if this is indeed waveform recording and playback, because to my ears it sounds more like LPC voice re-synthesis. Perhaps, what nw1 does is it just performs LPC formant analysis for the incoming sound, and it subsequently re-synthesizes the voice with an LPC algorithm. This would be quite reasonable, considering that speech synthesis engine is indeed featured in the module and available in the “Classic speech” mode.
I thought the NW1 mightt be an alternative / competitor to the Mutable Instruments – Braids.
