Pricing and Availability:
Morphestra 2 is available from Sample Logic for an introductory price of US $399.99 (normally $499.99).
I expected it to sound better for that kind of asking price –
That’s very expensive for a bank that comes in a market that is already very very crowed with plenty of very good banks and plugins that offer just as much (if not more) for way less money… We’re not in 2010 anymore.
The price MIGHT be fine, if the content and usability are there. I’m liking what I’m hearing in the demo in terms of mastering, tones, and production. It’s a little hard to tell about playability– (i.e., are there multi-velocities with the sounds that need them? Are the releases tweaked for playability? etc. etc.)
It’s a bit in that awkward zone where you might want it to be more orchestral and it’s got lots of synth stuff. I’d want to be more familiar with what was included before I would commit that kinda cash.
That price and size I’ll stick with Omnisphere 2.
I can imagine that when romplers came out long ago they kind of gave the same kind of impression at 1st sight.
I think the comparison Omnisphere is a fair one. I expect this one will have some strengths that Omnisphere lacks. However, Omnisphere is a pretty burly product and hard to beat in most respects.
I want them all!
Why not just sample i dependence day? Just kidding.
