While many modular synth companies are focusing on the Eurorack format, Moon Modular has found success creating unique designs in the DotCom-style 5U format.
At Superbooth 16, we talked with Moon Modular synth designer Gert Jalass.
He told us the story of how he went from being a ‘typical DIY guy’ to creating new modular synthesizer designs, with detours to make MIDI gear for Kraftwerk, build a Synthesis Technology MOTM modular and repair Moog Modular Systems.
Jalass also gave us an overview of the Moon Modular line – a collection of 5U modules that build on the legacy of Bob Moog, are compatible with the Synthesizers.com format and offer some unique capabilities.
