Roland has introduced the Rubix line of high-definition audio interfaces for iOS, Mac & Windows computers.
The line consists of three units – the Rubix 22, 24 and 44, each designed with low-noise mic pres and support for audio resolutions up to 24-bit/192kHz:
- Rubix 22 is a 2-in/2-out model with dual mic preamps.
- Rubix 24 adds two extra outputs and a hardware compressor/limiter for controlling highly dynamic sources.
- Rubix 44 adds two additional mic preamps for a total of 4 inputs and 4 outputs.

Yeah, we all need more midi ports, why is that so hard for all of these companies to grasp.
the thing is you can get a multi midi port or a multi audio but not both in one unit
iconnect audio4 comes close if you count it being able to host usb midi as well as a single traditional midi port.

Nothing suggests a simple learning curve and user experience like “rubick’s” (oh sorry, “Rubix”).
Are these supposed to replace the capture series? I still love my octacapture – I just wish it had an ipad app interface like the mackie and presonus interfaces.
Is there a reason companies haven’t started putting USB3 interfaces on these things yet? It’s ubiquitous and inexpensive. Seems like a logical step. Or is everyone waiting for USB3.1/TB3?
