Sunday Synth Jam: This video, via John Keston (Audio Cookbook) captures a polyrhythmic synth jam, featuring Squarp Pyramid, Novation Circuit, Moog Sub 37, PreenFM2, Rhodes, Minifooger Delay, and Korg KP3+.
Here’s what Keston has to say about the technical details:
Euclidean patterns drive each of the four Circuit drum parts through individual tracks on the Pyramid. I have it setup with four Euclidean patterns per track bank for a total of sixteen.
This way I can mix and match all sixteen patterns on the Pyramid and even swap them or combine them with patterns on the Circuit.
I’m able to keep an 8-beat phrase as I listen, but I suspect there would be other ways to feel/count it. Fun sounds & textures. The rhythms are cool. The delays & pan fun are a kick, too.
Nice work.
Very nice and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
strange and wonderful..not your typical synth jam that gets posted here. reminds me of the music from the Aeon Flux cartoon
nice jam!
Thanks for the comments! A YouTube commenter suggested I post this link to my new album, Isosceles in case you’d like to hear more like it:
