Sunday Synth Jam: This video, via Dutch synthesist Martin Peters, captures a live improvisation with a Moog Polymoog synthesizer, along with a collection of synth gear.
Here’s what Peters has to say about the technical details:
The sequences are performed by the Cirklon, which controls the Korg ARP Odyssey, the Mutable Instruments Braids, the Oberheim SEM and the Rob Hordijk OSC HRM, together with other modules from the Modular. I do some fiddling around on the Polymoog and the Prodigy. Hope you like it.
Wow. This sounds so much warmer than any Vst Moog. So real and thick and warm. Like only analog can do. Analog is so real and warm and thick. Vst is so bad and fake and cold. If vst would be a person it would be a Badman. Analog is even warmer than an acoustic instrument. It`s the warmest thing after a Volcano …. ooh so waaaarm ,,,, rusty spoooons,,,,
lovely! well done!
Agreed. Sounds great! Nice work for sure.
Man, I LOVE the sound of the Polymoog. Everything that comes out of it sounds like it was recorded on a cassette, and I mean that in a good way. I know they’re unstable as hell, but I want one!
