Reactable has announced an update to SNAP, which adds motion control to the drum machine app.
Snap’s new Motion Control feature allows the user to change patterns on the fly, in sync, using their smartphone. The Snap app is able to detect four different types of gestures: circle, infinity, punch and shake, to trigger the snapshots of the user’s sessions.
The user can also send the gestures using their iPhone to control a remote instance of SNAP running on an iPad, if the two devices are connected to the same wireless network.

SNAP allows the user to create seamless variations of their patterns, under the user’s complete interactive control. The app can create instant fills or drops with Snap’s ‘Magnet Mode.’ Program or load drum patterns, store favorite variations, and export them to a DAW, all on a continuous loop.
SNAP can also communicate with a variety of music apps, drum machines, DAWs and other musical equipment, via MIDI OUT and provides tempo and phase synchronization via Ableton Link.
SNAP also integrates with Native Instruments’ Maschine JAM so that the user can perform with the controller and get instant updates on the app.

The Reactable SNAP drum machine is a free application (some features require in-app purchase), available now via the Apple App Store, and Google Play.
