Pricing and Availability
The SKULPT synthesizer is available to pre-order via a Kickstarter campaign for £208 (about $274), and is expected to ship around November 2018.
Plus £15 shipping to the USA. So around $300, depending on conversion rates.
I am going to wait on it, mainly because I want to buy through a distributor since I don’t know if trump tariffs and conversion rates are going to change between now and the end of the campaign.
Let me know when the clear version is avalible.
just about reached its goal already. I probably would have bought one if the labels weren’t rotated by 45 degrees. I don’t feel like twisting my head every time I try to read it.
Yuo cna raed tihs so teh ieda taht yuo cnat raed on an anlge is moot.

you can always turn it at an angle.
Half the labels are tilted one direction, half the other.
Do you play piano or accordion?
hmmm tempted
I missed the Early Bird deal. As always. With shipping it converts to $315US. I’m going to have to pass on this.
Kickstarter should have early bird deals based on time, vs number of people that sign up.
Seems like anybody that signs up as a backer on the first day or so should be an early bird.
This thing is already fully backed though. Looks like it’ll be a hit for Modal.
Would have loved to be part of this, but they want to force me, to pay VAT. Even if I live in a place where we don’t pay that. Which means I would have to pay tax twice plus a fee. No thanks. If they ever sell it through Thomann, then I might buy one.
Be awesome when they start hitting the used market. I just got a new condition used monologue for $200.
exactly
Take my money! Tariffs be damned ?
SonicLab review sold me. Still haven’t heard a good example of the “state-variable filter”. All in all, the oscillator sound fantastic and I really dig that it’s MIDI-enabled. This, an iPad and that sexy Polyend/Dreadbox Medusa…could be a deserted island rig for sure !
what do they mean by “midi clock optional”… like is it an additional purchase?
@Hank
LFO might be linked to midi clock…so to disable that link/sync you would need to turn off the clock……just an idea/example
This is the most interesting thing I’ve seen on Synthtopia in quite a while. A refreshing change from endless analog synth stories.
I have bought the shrolca via kickstarter. 225$
