Mode Machines has announced the availability of the SEQ12, a 12-channel analog and MIDI hardware sequencer.
The SEQ12 is a MIDI Matrix Sequencer and offers one MIDI Input and three MIDI Outputs.
It gives access to 12 tracks and you are able to choose between three track types: drum, chord and monophone. Each track has 2 or 3 controller tracks, routing on midi outputs and midi channel adjustable.
Each track has 16 patterns. These can be played in freely programmable sequences, one behind the other. Each pattern has its own shuffle pattern, 2 to 3 controller tracks and additional ratchet modes with programmable pitch and trigger patterns.
The SEQ12 can record MIDI notes and controller values via MIDI In and the data can be edited using the LED buttons. There are 32 memory slots in the device and Mode Machines says that it has ‘very stable and accurate timing’.
Pricing and Availability
The SEQ12 is available now €999.
Nice, but a Tenori-On is cheaper these days.
That was one useless glitchy teaser video, we never even saw the entire device. Could we please have a proper product demo?
I love it…but not at that price. Mode machines have always had riduculous pricing. Its pretty much housed in a vermona drm1 enclosure, but contains a fraction of the circuit design and electronics components. So why does it cost twice as much as the drm! I understand economy of scale, but this thing is priced up there with the octatrack and mpc live.
That display is unacceptable too. It faded and cannot be read in the video. It should be oled.
I love it…but not at that price. Mode machines pricing has always been way over the top. Its pretty much housed in the same enclouser as the vermona drm1, but i reckon if you open it up and take a look inside there is a fraction of the electrical components, circuit design and labour hours, so why does it cost nearly twice as much as the drm1. I understand economy of scale, but the price is up there with the octatrack, mpc live and maybe the deluge. I was eargerly anticipating this as i wanted to buy one, but the price put me off.
Apologies for repeating. I though my comment failed to post.
That price is ridiculous. For net 200 more you have a cirklon. Or almost two pyramids. or the new upcoming vector sequencer plus expander. Or the upcoming Tanzbär.
