Solid State Logic has updated the software for its popular C100 Digital Broadcast Console.
The V1.5 software incorporates two new security features that enhance the operation of the console and provide the robust system redundancy so necessary to live broadcast operations. This upgrade makes the C100 the most comprehensive and failsafe digital console available for the broadcast industry.
A new DSP redundancy system adds to the C100’s unique Self-Healing DSP capabilities to provide the most comprehensive security solution of any digital broadcast console.
Broadcast security is further enhanced by the C100’s unique Control Surface Management. This provides operational security for the most vulnerable part of any broadcast console. Using a simple graphical interface, the operator is able to reconfigure the control surface without audio interruption.
A new Remote Bay option allows the console processing to be split across two control surfaces, providing additional flexibility in situations with restricted space, or where two distinct control sections are required.
Enhanced networking and integration capabilities, including Third Party Router Integration, allows information interchange between an external router and the console’s in built digital router.
“The C100 was designed to meet the needs of today’s broadcaster as the industry pushes to all-digital,” says SSL Director of Product Marketing Niall Feldman. “We have added a user-defined redundancy option for the DSP cards in the CPU core and a redundancy option for the surface of the console as well. Both features give the broadcaster failsafe operation capabilities, particularly critical for live applications.”
