FaderFox has introduced the 2nd generation of its controllers that are optimized for Live and Traktor. The new devices are expected to be available in the Feb-March 2006 timeframe, and to be available worldwide.
Four FaderFox controllers will be available:
micromodul LV2 is a pocket-size, custom-made controller of 2nd generation for Ableton Live.
Description: Lots of different control elements are integrated into this controller. This combination is the real strength of the LV2. This inexpensive controller unifies track- faders, encoders, buttons and joystick in a very compact form. You can use the two independent programmable button rows ( 2 x 6 buttons) to control various LIVE functions like scene launch, fx control, mute, solo, track control and slot launch. Parameter feedbacks from the application are indicated by LED’s. The four push-encoders (endless pots with switch) are perfect for ‘jump-free’ controlling. Important functions like track select, slot/scene-scroll and slot/scene-launch are fast accessable on the encoders by simple activating the main function. As of Live version 4.1, you can use the LV2 immediately by using different setting files which are shipped with the controller – without the time consuming process of programming each separate control element.
The LV2 can also be used with other programs. It is suited well for software sequencers due to its architecture/layout. You can not program the LV2 or assign controller numbers or key numbers, but that is a function that is rarely needed with current programs. The device is very compact and easy to transport, and you do not even need any power adaptors, it works with standard and rechargeable batteries.
Improvements to LV1: 2 programmable button rows with 12 LED’s, 4 push-encoders, main function and some better ergonomics.
micromodul DJ2 is a small DJ controller
Description:. This controller differs from all other controllers on the market in that it is optimized for NI Traktor DJ-Studio. The device offers all important controls for two decks like faders, EQ’s, transport and FX buttons. A joystick is nice to control two FX (filter) parameters simultaneously. Another strength of the DJ2 is the possibility of sensitive pitching by two encoders. These encoders are multifunctional so you can browse in the track list, load tracks, seek/scratch in tracks and either adjust the gain. As of Traktor DJ-Studio version 2.1, you can use the DJ2 immediately by using the different setting files which are shipped with the controller.
Modern Djing – without carrying heavy vinyl-cases! 😉
While the DJ2 offers all main functions, our DX2 complements it with all the additional buttons for loop control, a full FX section (4 pots + 4 buttons) and 5 encoders for pitching/seek/scratch/list/load. DJ2 and DX2 are a really great team.
Use two devices DJ2/DX2 if you want to play a four-deck-set (Traktor DJ Studio 3.0). It is very easy to chain the devices by midi connections.
The DJ2 can also be used with other programs. We even made a special configuration file for Ableton Live as of version 4.1 which is just as fun. You can not program the DJ2 or assign controller numbers or key numbers, but that is a function that is rarely need with current software.
The DJ2 is very compact and easy to transport, and you do not even need any power adaptors since it works with standard and rechargeable batteries.
Improvements to DJ1: Full two-deck-control, sensitive pitching by encoders, innovative FX control by joystick and some better ergonomics
micromodul DX2 is a small DJ controller for computer-based mixing if you prefer to use an external DJ-mixer or as complement to DJ2.
Description: The DX2 is optimized for NI Traktor DJ-Studio and differs from all other controllers on the market because it does not have any mixer elements like faders and EQ’s. DX2 offers a lot of other nice controls like the amazing loop and FX functions. The FX section contains 4 pots + 4 buttons for perfect control of the new Traktor DJ Studio 3.0 effects. (also very suitable to Traktor 2.x filter). Another strength of the DX2 is the possibility of sensitive pitching by two encoders and seek/scratch functionality by two other encoders. The fifth encoder is assigned to the track list browser. As of Traktor DJ-Studio version 2.1, you can use the DX2 immediately by using the different setting files which are shipped with the controller.
Modern Djing – continue using your favourite external mixer!
While the DJ2 offers all main functions, our DX2 complements it with all the additional switch and FX controls. The 5 encoders on DX2 share the functionality of 2 encoders on DJ2 so you do not have to switch between the different modes like on DJ2.
DJ2 and DX2 are a really great team.
Use two devices DJ2/DX2 if you want to play a four-deck-set (Traktor DJ Studio 3.0). It is very easy to chain the devices by midi connections.
The DX2 can also be used with other programs. You can not program the DX2 or assign controller numbers or key numbers, but that is a function that is rarely need with current software.
The DX2 is very compact and easy to transport, and you do not even need any power adaptors since it works with standard and rechargeable batteries.
micromodul LX2 is a custom-made, pocket-size controller of 2nd generation for use with Ableton Live.
Description: It was designed as a supplement to our LV2. While the LV2 offers all faders, encoders and a joystick, the LX2 offers a lot of key functions for controlling tracks, clips, scenes, track select and fx. All this is achieved with 56 buttons and 49 LED’s. Four button groups are independently programmable in different modes. All track control functions are immediately accessible for 6 or 12 tracks. Another strength of the LX2 is the possibility to start over 36 slots/scenes (up to 108 are even possible by using the keyset function). Last but not least all buttons of the first 3 groups have LED’s to show their statuses. Parameter feedbacks from the application are indicated by these 36 LED’s. The fourth group is a mini keyboard (one octave), a simple possibility to trigger any instrument you want. Each button group has three switchable keysets. As of Live version 4.1, you can use the LX2 immediately by using different setting files which are shipped with the controller – without the time consuming process of programming each separate control element.
Modern sequencing – finally enough switches to rock your live-set!
The LX2 can also be used with other programs. It is suited well for software sequencers, VST instruments or any other midi gear. This controller can be used everywhere where you need a compact instrument to send a lot of switch commands via midi.
You can program the LX2 (cc/note numbers in groups of 12 ascending numbers, keymodes like 1 of 12 and toggle) and store it in 12 setups. The device is very compact and easy to transport, and you do not even need any power adaptors since it works with standard and rechargeable batteries.
Improvements to LX1: 36 LED’s to show the button statuses, 4 independent keygroups with 3 keysets, freely assignable in different keymodes, mini-keyboard, 12 setup memories
