Sonic Studio has announced a new revision of their premastering application, PreMaster CD.

PreMaster CD is a simplified version of Sonic Studio’s full featured premastering application. The latest release adds a new, automated simplicity to the task of premastering that both accomplished engineers and newcomers alike will appreciate. PreMaster CD combines value pricing with effortless creation of one–off CDs and replication masters and, it runs natively on Mac OS X.

“This new release answers the call we’ve had from the pro audio community for our high end premastering functionality with even more automated PQ creation and super fast re–sequencing,” says Jayson Tomlin, VP, Sales & Business Development. He adds, “We’ve delivered that in version 1.1 of PMCD while retaining the legendary compatibility of our DDP file sets, a reliability that other Mac vendors can’t provide.”

Though PreMaster CD version 1.1 carries an MSRP of $795, Sonic Studio is offering special pricing during the Audio Engineering Society Convention this month in Paris. It is available now, both on–line at Sonic Studio’s web store and through an international network of distributors, for the special show price of US$495.
