New Site Wants To Be YouTube For Musicians

MyMusicPlayerTVMusic Player Network has partnered with Reality Digital, a software development company, to launch MyMusicPlayerTV.com, a user-generated content site for music players of all skill levels, all instruments and all genres.

Musicians can upload video clips of themselves or their bands, share the clips with friends and family, create a user network, and meet and exchange ideas with other like-minded musicians.

“While sites such as YouTube have exploded the concept of content communities, their reach is typically too vast to offer musicians a focused and easily accessible forum in which to share purely musical content,” says Michael Molenda, Editor in Chief of Guitar Player. “MyMusicPlayerTV.com is that concentrated oasis where players of all different types of instruments, styles, ages, and skill levels can share lessons, gear reviews, performance clips, and other video content with a nurturing community of peers.”

“The trend in UGC (user-generated content) is clearly moving away from the ‘big bucket’ sites, and more toward the sites that are focused around a common interest and hosted by establish, trusted brands like Music Player,” said Cynthia Francis, CEO of Reality Digital.

Since March, MPN has also launched Bass Player TV, Keyboard TV, and later in the year, will launch EQ TV.
