Pioneering house music label Strictly Rhythm is back from the dead.
Strictly Rhythm, founded in 1989, released material by such artists as Roger Sanchez, the Vengaboys, Planet Soul, George Morel, DJ Pierre, Todd Terry, Masters At Work, Reel 2 Real, Josh Wink, Ultra Naté, and Armand Van Helden. Unfortunately, they crashed and burned in 2002 and were locked in legal negotiations for five years.
Now, not only can you get your hands on their classic releases again, but they’re available as digital downloads for the first time. Strictly is also back with new releases, and remixes of classic house tracks. Here’s streaming versions of some of their new digital releases:
- Josh Wink – “Higher State of Consciousness” Dirty South Radio Mix
- Todd Terry – “Get Down” Kenny Dope Radio Mix
- Deepface – “I Want To Live” Original Radio Mix (Red Stick Recordings/ Strictly)
They say that they’ve got a “bumper crop” of house music remixes, dj mixes and new releases on the way.
