Doesn’t this delicious image of a Technics 1200 turntable sync ring make you want to spin some vinyl and actually feel some music?
It’s Record Store Day 2009 – so go visit your local record store and dig up something fun.
If you make a cool find, leave a comment and tell us about it!
I am fortunate enough to live near the greatest record store in existence; Amoeba Records in Hollywood.
I was there for Record Store day! I had a great time, I even got name checked twice (it always makes my day).
I actually got an Amoeba employee who helped me mine the reggae/dub
sections for Lee “Scratch” Perry selections for quite a while, and we discussed the differences between the Trojan & Attack! labels. This kind of personal discovery and conversation will never exist in the online record store experience, and it is why places like Amoeba are so crucial to the American landscape.
So I got back to Long Beach and fired up the PA, and I now have added so much to my collection of Lee Scratch Perry that I can spin LSP for 3-4 hours non stop. Just ask my neighbors.
Speaking of really loud awesome tunes… HAPPY 4/20 !!!
