I have a theory. I think that it's the keyboard part of the keytar that makes it nerdy. The basic black and white keys setup starts from behind the eight ball in trying to be cool.
What we really need is a new kind of keytar that does not have keys at all. I am think of something like a Haaken Continuum with a neck and some sweet styling.
Good theory.
