Blue Microphones has announced the US $99.99 second generation Mikey Portable Recorder for iPod and iPhone.
Mikey still features two Blue mic capsules for pro-quality stereo recording, but now has improved acoustic circuitry for better recordings of loud events such as concerts. The new Mikey also has a 3.5mm line input for plugging in a sound source like a guitar or mixer.
There’s also a USB pass-through connection for charging and syncing. A newly designed case makes Mikey usable with most iPhone cases, and the mic can be adjusted to seven fixed positions within a 230-degree range for optimum positioning.
Blue is also throwing in a soft carrying pouch for Mikey, along with a headphone extension cable for playback monitoring with the iPod touch and nano.
The Blue Mikey can be used with Blue FiRe, a free iPhone recording application.
I thought bluemickey is only for ipods. Not for Iphone.
I ve read several reviews where it is mentioned that bluemickey is for the iphone too.
When I check their website they only mention ipods.
Can anyone confirm that blue mickey is for iphone too?
it also works for the iPhone, you just have to click 'yes' when it asks you the phone will be going into 'Airplane' mode… this is what I understand as I had a mikey myself… until I lost it 🙁 but been waiting for the new version to come out and it's finally here!!!! wooot! I wonder when it'll be available? 🙂

it should be available this spring…cant wait
Won’t work with first gen iPhone 2g.
Wow that's crazy! That looks like it could work for effective podcasting. Are there any adapters or anything that would add support for other mics?
When is The Mikey Mic Version 2 coming
to Canada?
Thanks
